Do you have a robust sex life or a Sexual Addiction?

Posted in News & Entertainment by trickyd313 on February 1, 2010

According to an article in the Feb 1, 2010 edition of the Detroit Free Press there are more people in southeastern Michigan that are being treated for Sexual Addiction. The Article cites The Tiger Woods situation as a triggering event for many to seek treatment for this controversial diagnosis. I feel that my sex is under control but my sexual activities may fit the definition of a sex addict.

The article cites that there is a difference between someone with a robust sex life and a sex addict. I think that Tiger Woods may have had a robust sex life and is using the sex addict diagnosis as a way to rebuild his public image. I really don’t know Woods personally so I could be and may be wrong. I just think that a person of his celebrity is surrounded by adoring fans and groupies in every city across the world, and the space and opportunity to accept sexual offers, (and to make some) is ever present.

In my humble opinion… that doesn’t make one a Sex Addict. So tell me, do you have a robust sex life or do you think that you may fit the description of a sex addict? I already have my opinion about myself.

Tiger Woods spotted! What is he doing?

Tiger Woods apparently has been spotted in Mississippi and is reportedly entered a sex addiction clinic. According to an article linked to mediatakeout.com, Woods is seeking rehabilitation services from one of the nations top facilities on addictive behavior. The golfers clean cut image has been marred in a sex scandal and it appears that his handlers have been mismanaging the situation from the start.

I can’t be the judge of whether Woods or other public figures marry for love or image but by all accounts Woods marriage appears to have been one for image. If that is the case Woods handlers have not done the golfer justice. White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel says “You never let a serious crisis go to waste.” Woods handlers have not lived up to this manner of thinking. The general public will not be sympathetic to Woods situation because of an alleged sex addition.  Singer Eric Benet tried that excuse before he and Halle Berry were divorced then later recanted the claim. It didn’t work for him and it wont work for Tiger.

Assuming that this was a marriage of convenience and image, what Woods handlers should have counseled him on was a amicable divorce. By him filing for divorce after the scandal broke the focus would have shifted from Tiger’s infidelity, to what the hell is wrong with Elin. Many would have asked why can’t she keep her husband at home. Woods would have been able to ride out the “I was driven to infidelity” scenario and could have played the victim roll. A single or divorced Tiger Woods can continue with his philandering ways and be praised for the same actions.  This would lead to Woods being the most admired playboy in the world (George Clooney would have fell to a distant second.)

The alternate to this synopsis is that Tiger Woods is madly in love with his wife and is doing everything he can to save his marriage. If that is the case. Then his handlers deserve a salute ala former President George W. Bush’s praise of former FEMA Director Michael Brown saying after Hurricane Katrina hit, “Brownie (handlers), you’re doing a heck of a job.”
