The New City Council Takes on the Strip Club Issue. Part 1

Posted in News & Entertainment by trickyd313 on February 12, 2010

The Detroit City Council is considering the Strip Club Issue again.  I am glad that this issue was held over for the new Council to consider because this is not an easy issue.  I think that these special interest groups need to leave the strip clubs alone.  These groups are attempting to destroy an entire industry with their hypocritical views toward about morality.  I feel that the last City Council was heavily influenced by these special interest groups and the New Council will look at all the issues that are surrounding the debate.

What exactly is the issues with strip clubs? Are they trying to stop them from opening up or running? I think with the economy as it is right now stopping ANY job from being available is a dumb idea. For those who feel thier community will not support it then let the place open if no one goes it will close business is about makeing money… As for Morality… Who is the one that decideds what is or is not moral? I would rather have someone go watch a women or man strip and dance then have them in the back of a car with a hooker. Some people are visual and need to just see things to get rid of erges…

Here in Detroit, as with a lot of cities, they want to have the strippers start wearing pasties over their nipples. They also want to impose a 5 foot limit and halt any lap dances. The end result of a cascading effect will be that these clubs will shut down because no one will come to a strip club where you cant touch the dancer and you cant see the nipples.

They also want to change the zoning so that strip clubs can’t be too close to a church. What is funny about that is that most of the strip clubs have been in the same location for 20 years. These churches that are complaining actually moved into buildings right next to thee clubs or right across the parking lot. Then they want to make the established business that has been there move. That some BS there.
